The Way of Love
The Way of Love is a tourist walk a little over a kilometer, facing to the sea, linking the villages of Riomaggiore and Manarola, Cinque Terre, in Liguria.
path is reported as number two in the wider pedestrian path that connects all the destinations on this stretch of the Ligurian Riviera di Levante, and is certainly the easier road to travel along this stretch of coast (you can cover in about half an hour easy walk) as well as being the best known and appreciated from the point of tourist landscape. Fit for use by half of the twenties, you can admire a spectacular route along the glance that extends from the tip of the promontory of Masco Montenero. It is part of the Cinque Terre, as stated by 'UNESCO World Heritage site. During the nineties the road remained closed for a long time in transit due to the deterioration caused by the many storms that have affected the stability of the trip due to massive restoration and making safe was then opened to the public.
The birth of the Way of Love is singular, due to occasional circumstances: the creation of enlargement, which took place from 1920, the railway tunnel of La Spezia-Genoa along the coast that runs between Manarola and Riomaggiore. To allow the work, and to secure the two places, was built in a sort of halfway santabarbara for storing the explosives needed to carry out the work. To join the sites placed at the periphery of the two locations for the storage of explosives in the rock was necessary to open two small paths. It was only some time later - when the santabarbara had now been removed and the joint path and feasible for all - which some anonymous decided to draw with lime at both ends of the street writing Way of Love.
Unlike the path that runs parallel to the ridge above, nel territorio del Parco Nazionale delle Cinque Terre, il transito sulla Via dell'Amore รจ soggetto, dopo la riapertura susseguenti i lavori di restauro - e quale contributo per i lavori di manutenzione della promenade - al pagamento di un biglietto di accesso.
