In this beautiful town with a glorious past is nice to arrive by sea, the tourist here, reached the marina enclosed by the pastel-colored houses, can visit the church of St. Margaret of Antioch. The building, named for the first time in 1318, enriched with large windows trefoil has a medieval structure in the east, west Renaissance. Vernazza also boasts the remains of its defense system. Ancient structure remain today the remains of fortified city walls, Castello Doria, the watch tower of the eleventh century, Belforte, and the tower of the Convent of the Reformed Fathers of St. Francis.
Houses of the oldest parts, each separated only by different colors, with wooden shutters like Genoa, were "stuck" by the people to each other and form almost a single group, with only an occasional "Alley" seems born to lead them a little 'breathing. In these areas almost nothing has changed. The main road divides the town in two and ends in the main square which is a bit 'the center of Vernazza.
Its marina provides a safe harbor, a natural inlet that allows the docking of transport vessels.
